English Hill Annual Turkey Trot

Volunteer opportunities for the English Hill Annual Turkey Trot, which benefits Seattle Children's Hospital Foundation. There is a lot of administrative help needed, outside of the event. Volunteer opportunities are also available on the day of the event, yet since it's on Thanksgiving, students are not expected to help on Thanksgiving Day. The decision is theirs. Here are a few examples of volunteer opportunities:

  • T-Shirt Design
  • Advertisement design, print, and disribution
  • Contact existing sponsors for charitable prize donations
  • Day of event: setup, registration, race timing, raffle, and clean up

Eastside Baby Corner

Located in Issaquah. Volunteers are needed to help receive, sort, and distribute incoming donations.

Homeward Pet Adoption

Volunteers needed to help care for animals. Ages 13-15 must be accompanied by an adult. Call (425) 488-4444 to volunteer. The Homeward Pet Adoption Center address: 13132 NE 177th PL Woodinville, WA 98072.

HopeLink

Multiple locations throughout King County and one in Snohomish County. Ages 12-16 must volunteer with an adult. Mandatory volunteer class is provided. Information can be found on the website or by phone.

Humane Society

Must be 13 years or older to volunteer. You make your own volunteer profile, then the system matches you with shelters and rescues who contact you directly through our Adopt-a-Pet.com database.

Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center

Volunteer opportunities for those with horse experience and for those that don't. They will train you to lead and tack up horses for challenged kids/adults. You must be 14 years old. If volunteers don't have riding experience, they can volunteer for event and facility needs. Contact Jeffrey Isaacson at (425) 882-1554

Local Elementary School PTAs

Check with your elementary schools. Many teachers are appreciative when their former students come help after school in their classrooms. There are also many opportunities to volunteer at book fairs, math clubs, chess clubs, science fairs, carnivals, etc. Contact your local PTA President.

Northshore Family Center, Bothell

Northshore Family Center has been an informal community-based center where families and individuals can find activities, support, resources, and services designated to meet their needs and interests.

Northwest Harvest

Threads and Treads

Threads and Treads provides Northshore families free, quality donated clothing for school age youth, teens, young adults, and parents. Threads and treads needs volunteers to help once or twice a month on Thursdays, 3:45pm to 6pm at Canyon Park Middle School to help families find clothing throughout the store. Youth Volunteer Corps.

YVC, a program of Camp Fire USA, engages teams of youth ages 11-18 in service opportunities that meet community needs, and are educational, challenging, and fun. All YVC projects are FREE.
