Summer Letter 2025 - Sent to KMS Families Aug 15, 2025
Hello Kenmore Colt Families and Friends,
I hope your summer has been safe, relaxing, and rejuvenating. We have been getting ready for the start of the 2025-2026 school year and are excited to welcome the class of 2032 to Kenmore Middle. I had a great trip with my family to Belize. We spent two weeks exploring the country. Highlights included snorkeling, waterfalls and caves, and exploring Mayan ruins.. I’m looking forward to the new school year and continuing the important work we are doing at Kenmore Middle School.
Kenmore Middle is a great school in a supportive community with lots of traditions. Our goal is for each and every student to feel that they belong and are receiving the support they need to grow and have the best possible experience at Kenmore Middle. Relationships are important. We aim to foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all students. Regardless of their background, ethnicity, gender, abilities, or interests, each student should feel like an integral part of the school community. The focus is on providing individualized support to students. This means understanding and addressing their unique needs, challenges, and strengths to help them develop both academically and personally. The school's core priority is the well-being and progress of its students. All policies, practices, and initiatives are geared towards enhancing the students' experience. Kenmore Middle is committed to creating an environment where students enjoy their time at the school and have a positive overall experience. From academics to extracurricular activities, from social interactions to emotional well-being, every aspect matters to us. When students feel a true sense of belonging and receive the support they need, they naturally engage, succeed, and have a fulfilling experience.
Please check the Kenmore Middle School website for answers to many of your questions. KMS website: https://kenmorems.nsd.org/. Here is some important information for the start of school.
- Technology Distribution: All students who were NSD students last year should have their NSD assigned Chromebook. This should come fully charged with your student each and every day. For students new to NSD, you will receive your Chromebook the first week of school. If you have questions or need something regarding your device, please call the Kenmore Middle School main office and we will be able to direct your call to the appropriate person.
- School Supplies: We are looking to pare down our typical school supplies list to include only those items your students will need. This is to lessen the financial burden on families when it comes to purchasing back to school supplies. The list is now posted on the Kenmore Middle School website.
- Student Schedules: Sometimes students find class schedules through different online programs. These schedules are not finalized, and schedules may change. Schedules will be visible in ParentVUE and StudentVUE on August 29.
- Attendance: Attendance for all days of school is vital to the success of your child. Attendance will be taken each class period of every day. If your student needs to miss a day because of illness or other reasons, you have 48 hours to contact our attendance office to notify us to excuse the absence, otherwise the absence will be marked as unexcused.
