Hello, my name is Joseph Robertson and I am excited to be the principal at Kenmore Middle School and to be part of the Kenmore community. Middle school is a crucial phase for students as they develop their independence and form their identities. I believe that education creates opportunities and is the key to improving lives on a personal and community level. As principal, my utmost priority is to provide unwavering support to students, parents, and staff, fostering an environment that revolves around our core principles of nurturing positive relationships and facilitating academic and social-emotional advancement.
I started my career in 1994 at Kenmore Junior High as a math teacher. Since then, I have had the privilege of teaching both at the middle school and high school levels, in the United States and overseas. My doctorate is from Northeastern University in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis on student engagement and social justice. I am committed to continuous learning, actively listening, and engaging in discussions to expand my understanding of racial and social justice. It is my firm belief that by eliminating barriers and impediments, we can create an inclusive environment where all students can thrive and achieve success.
On a personal note, I enjoy traveling, hiking, being outdoors in general, playing music, and spending time with my family. I am honored to be part of the Kenmore Middle School community, and I look forward to collaborating with students, parents, and staff to foster an empowering educational experience for each and every student.
Go Colts!
